Jacob Draper is a 4th generation Arizona native who is passionate about his state. His background is in natural resource management. Jacob was an eager young boy who started hunting and fishing with his father shortly after he could walk.
After pursuing wildlife in Arizona for over 25 years, he decided it was time to further his passion of preserving these animals. It was one of those random, spur-of-moment ideas that turned into a burning passion and obsession. Thankfully, Jacob’s wife and daughter are big fans of the duck mounts.
Jacob is self taught in taxidermy. He remains up to date on best practices and will seek help from a local professional taxidermist when something new or unusual comes into the shop. Jacob learned the hard way of what not to do by making countless mistakes on his own birds, and ultimately realized he has a knack for this work. After learning how to produce quality mounts, he started Banded Taxidermy in 2024. Jacob is accepting new clients and hopes to create a wall hanger that is perfect for you!
